Fans and media alike have been speculating for weeks now if Frank ocean’s decision to reveal he was gay would ultimately affect his album sales.

R&B singer and noted songwriter Frank Ocean dropped a bombshell on the music industry last week when he confirmed his sexuality to the world via his tumblr page.

Since his revelation, many in the hip-hop community have been speaking out in support.

Beyonce can now be Added to the growing list that already includes hip-hop royalty like Jay-z, Trina and Russell Simmons. Beyonce recently posted a photo to her website showing her support to the Odd Future crooner, who wrote “I Miss You” off of King Bey’s latest album, and his decision to no longer remain trapped in the closet.

Is Being GAY in the Music Industry, the Kiss of Death to a Career?

Is being openly gay in the music industry the kiss of death to a career? In the music business men are expected to show their masculinity through their rampant cursing, their huge diamond chains around the neck, and the saddening exploitation of women. How many times have you turned on a Trey Songz, 50 Cent or any other male artist music video, and saw naked females that often had nothing to do with the song itself?
